Customer Reviews Average rating - 4.0

    Rating - 5 Date: 2008-10-24
Content: I play portions of it almost everyday. My favorites are Labels or Love, How Do you Mend a Broken Heart, and of course the rock classic Walk This Way. Even if you didn't see the movie, it's a fun CD to have in your collection.
Summary: This CD is absolutely FABULOUS!

    Rating - 5 Date: 2008-10-11
Content: The music is great and refresing, especially the remix of How Can You Mend a Broken Heart, Joss Stone and Al Green have made that best possible remix of a song. Of course Labels of Love and All Dressed Up are great too!
    Summary: Great Music!!

    Rating - 5 Date: 2008-09-16
Content: This is one of the best movie soundtracks, ever. Stand outs are India Arie's version of Don Henley's "The Heart of the Matter", Jem's "It's Amazing", and the Nina Simone remix by Madison Park and Lenny B. Even the Fergie track grew on me and that's saying a lot. Can't wait for the DVD!

    Summary: Loving This Soundtrack

    Summary: sex and the city

    Rating - 5 Date: 2008-09-01
Content: For any of you whining and moaning and nagging that it isn't like the show, get a clue. It says "From the Original Motion Picture". For anyone confusing "HBO: Home Box Office" for an ACTUAL box office, apologies, but the only "motion picture" of SATC is the one that just came out in 2008 in actual movie theatres.

If you want the tv show theme song, nope, you aren't going to get it here.
If you want La Belle et Le Bus Boy from the Paris scenes in Season Six, nope, you aren't going to get it here. If you want a CD that has a Fergie song on it that you think is g.l.a.m., well, you might be disappointed on that too.

If you ACTUALLY WENT AND SAW THE MOVIE, you will know what you are in for. The songs on this CD are the exact same as the movie, including the over-the-top-yet-perfect orchestral rendition of the SATC theme song.

If you went to the movie and loved that the songs helped catch you in the emotion of the moments of the scenes, you will love this CD. All of the songs on this CD are quite intense, either with the sad soul-croonings of Auld Lang Syne or the jumpiness of Fergie's Labels of Love (great intro to the movie though). It's hard not to feel overcome with various emotions (How Deep is Your Love, Heart of the Matter and How Do you Mend A Broken Heart) and joys (It's Amazing and All Dressed in Love) during each of the overwhelmingly fun and/or poignant tunes.

If you did NOT see the movie but you liked the show and figure this will be a great substitute until you do see the movie, you will likely feel lost in the beats and dramatic tempos. Don't bother getting this CD until you've at least seen the movie.

Plus, I am not saying everyone who loved the movie should love this CD. For some, they will love the movie plot but find that the music was melodramatic at times and not worthy of purchasing the soundtrack. That's fine. That makes for a legit review.

Just don't give it a low review and whine that the Movie Soundtrack CD didn't have music from the show on it. That's lame.

Really, it's all quite common sense. It would be like me getting the soundtrack from the most recent Batman flick and then whining endlessly that it didn't have those '50s bee-bop tunes from the old black-and-white TV show. I'd be silly to expect such things!

... and apologies for being harsh, but really, I'm disgruntled by the frequency with which people leave negative reviews for their own mistakes and for ordering the wrong item. That issue lies within the reviewer and nothing else.
Summary: if you love the movie, you love this
