Content: I've had nothing but trouble with HP printers. The Canon MX310 is such a wonderful change to a truly quality printer-scanner-fax, and for half the price! The software installed without a hitch in Windows XP and all functions work great. The manual is somewhat vague and it took some small amount of fiddling to operate the fax and scan modes, but in the end, not enough to remove a whole star, as it's really pretty simple to use. It also looks good, with a sleek design. I love it! Keep it up, Canon!

Content: I found this printer some what confusing to install, mostly due to how the instructions are written. While I am not a tech expert I am also not a tech idiot.I found installation went faster and easier by doing it "my way". I still have not figured out how to turn off the fax receive mode even after reading the manual several times, I have to turn the machine off so as not to receive faxes. For the price I feel it does the job I need it to. It prints quickly ( much faster than the HP printer this Cannon replaced). The print quality is great. All the features work great. It takes awhile but eventually one figures it all out, I would have to say this is not what I would consider a straight forward installation and user friendly machine. The manual is quite involved. If you have the patience and time you will do fine. Over all I would say it is good machine for the money. It serves my needs well and saves me time and $$ by not having to go to the print store to have copies made and faxes sent.

Content: This is VERY different from a regular Printer only. The only problems I have encountered so far are how few sheets of paper you can load, so it seems I'm always putting paper in. More importantly, it's very hard to set up a page to print so that what you're printing is not so tiny you can't read it. My regular printer just printed normal size without having to set anything. The black ink cartridge seems to already be low on ink with very little printing? On the upside the fact that the machine does so much more than just printing is very nice.

Content: This printer is the worst ever for replacing ink cartridges. The cartridges USUALLY do not engage properly, and then you have to try over and over and over again before the printer takes hold of them. Unless you want to waste a lot of time replacing ink cartridges, don't buy this printer. Canon should be ashamed.
