Rating - 4 Date: 2008-10-23 Content: Bought it at good deal with free shipping. However, it was not that easy to put it up. Try to find the beams with a stud and balance the rails. May be it is my own limited knowledge being a "handyman" girl. Took me 2 hours to re-adjust & positioning it well.
Hint: Not only balancing the supporting rails but also the holes on the hanging rails. Finally got them up! Yeah! Then find out they are too samll for my rubbermaids tubs - well, put all the paper file boxes up and free some of my shelf space for my gardening tool and fertilizers.
If you are having regular rubbermaid boxes - forgot about this rack - can hold very small containers & tubs - but worth to put the paper/bankers boxes - they are sturdy and strong.
Good value when they are on sale under $30. Summary: Takes some efftot to put them up but worth it!
Rating - 3 Date: 2008-10-06 Content: I got three sets of the overhead models and was very pleased but was not as happy with this wall model. It didn't hold as much as I expected and was not wide enough for any of the plastic storage containers I already had. Like the overhead construction, instructions and overall quality of product was great. Summary: all my plastic boxes were too big
Rating - 5 Date: 2007-12-14 Content: The shelf was extremely easy to install and looks very nice. It is sturdy, and definitely holds more weight that the minimum recommendation. The thing we like most about it is that it is the perfect size for the plastic storage containers we use to store most of our things. It is a great product. Summary: Easy to Install and Adjust
Rating - 4 Date: 2007-11-01 Content: I now have 4 of these in my basement to hold all the holiday bins that we have. Does a great job and keeps things neat.
My only grip about them would be the screw hole placement where it attaches to a stud. The studs in my basement are not at the exact distance to accomodate the holes in the frame. If they can create more holes that are spaced differently without damaging the strength that would be great.
My work around for this was to get 1x4's and build a frame that fits the Hyloft demensions and attach that to the wall studs first then put the Hyloft on afterwards. Summary: Took a little work but got things out of the way
Rating - 4 Date: 2007-10-30 Content: I bought 4 of these on a special amazon deal with free shipping. They are perfect for storing tubs that aren't too big or heavy. My wife uses these to store her Christmas "stuff" and they work out pretty well. I made sure I screwed these to the studs and didn't use the drywall screw plugs that they provided. All in all, they are pretty good for the price. If you can get a good deal on them and get free shipping, I'd go for it. Summary: OK for the price
