Editorial Reviews Product Description: Aftermarket horns provide a louder, and often more pleasant sound than stock horns. Stock horns typically have an output of 97 dB. The decibel scale is logarithmic and therefore the sound pressure doubles for every increase of 3.3 points, i.e. a horn with 118 dB produces approximately seven times the sound preasure as a stock horn.
Hella Supertone Horn Kit. This horn is best on open interstates where you want to warn a truck that he is about to run into you. Lucy's Comment: D above Middle C to B: - a major sixth and a consonant interval.

Rating - 5 Date: 2008-12-16 Content: I am very happy with the Hella Supertones. I couldn't find them locally so I went to the internet. They came with a wiring diagram, a relay and were easy to hook up. I have a 2008 Toyota Tacoma (the original horn is not so good) and there were two good spots right behind the grill, no drilling was required. The nice thing is that you can partially see those red babies through the grill. Summary: These Horns Blow
Rating - 5 Date: 2008-11-01 Content: So, when I wired these horns to test them before mounting them on my bike and running the wire for real, they were so loud that I had second thoughts about mounting them as close to me as I had planned. My weenie OEM horn seemed pathetic by comparison to these car-like red monsters. Seriously. Be scrupulous about your hearing pro if you are going to use these on a motorbike. I am positive there will be flinching and swerving by the first cager who doesn't pay attention. Not that big a deal to wire if you use your OEM horns' original wires to hook into the supplied relay. They are pretty large (nearly 5" D @ and 2"+ deep), so finding a place to mount them, especially on a naked bike like mine will be a bit of a challenge. But if you figure it out, these are very much bang for your buck, decibel wise. Two tones. Reassuringly, though scarily loud. Highly recommended for all bikers who need more audio defense than their sqeeky toy original horns. They are also big and red, but you'll survive that. Summary: Holy hades LOUD
Rating - 5 Date: 2008-08-18 Content: I thought I wasn't going to be able to install the Hella SuperTone Horn Kit, 118db on my 2003 PT Turbo Cruiser, But I was wrong. The instructions were every where and easy to follow when I received them (a pair). So I was able to install them in no time at all. I can now move cars and trucks out of my way on the freeway. I am happy with this purchase and I got my beep back from the horns when I lock the car with the remote telling me that the car is now locked. Thanks, Amazon.Com... Summary: Super Loud Horns
Rating - 4 Date: 2008-08-14 Content: Despite what another reviewer said, these are EXACTLY the same as the "German" horns. Hella has moved production of these horns to India, which causes confusion between these and what are known as the "Indian" horns. Now both are made in India. These are the louder 118dB 300/500 Hz horns (known as the "German" horns) while the others are the quieter 300/350 Hz horns (known as the "Indian" horns).
Company shipped quickly and had the lowest price by $10. I am very satisfied. Summary: Exactly what I expected
Rating - 5 Date: 2008-07-15 Content: I got these horns to replace the broken horn on my is300. they're pretty easy to install with some basic electronics knowledge. they are loud. significantly louder than any other factory vehicle horn that i've heard. they'd be plenty loud with just one of the horns, but it wouldn't sound right. with all of the loud subwoofers and exhaust systems on the streets these days, i prefer having a set of horns that can cut right through all of that noise.
some may complain about the price, but these are high quality horns that are worth their price. cheaper ones are usually made of plastic and other cheap materials. pick up a pair, and potentially avoid a dangerous accident. Summary: beep beep
