Product Description:
Pediatricians recommend swaddling to comfort and soothe newborns, but loose blankets are difficult to keep snug. Content: Our little girl sleeps so well in her kiddopotamus- keeps her warm and from scaring/scratching herself with her hands. We have her sleeping through the night already after just a couple months!!!

Content: I bought this item and the Miracle Blanket - Periwinkle Blue at the same time. Initially, I thought the SwaddleMe looked easier to use and was clearly was cheaper, but I find that I am using the Miracle Blanket almost exclusively. The two velcro tabs on the SwaddleMe are harder to manipulate than I thought they would be, especially with a struggling baby, and swaddling several times a day. In my opinion the Miracle Blanket is overall simpler to use. The Miracle Blanket accommodates all sizes, so it can adjust to baby's growth, and may be a better purchase/gift if you don't know how big the baby will be. Both of these items leave room for baby's legs to move, which is good. (Supposedly, restricting leg movement puts the baby at risk for abnormal hip development.) Don't forget Dr. Karp's DVD The Happiest Baby on the Block - The New Way to Calm Crying and Help Your Baby Sleep Longer (DVD) because swaddling is only one of several steps to calming your baby. This is my second baby and so far, it's been a much better experience than with my firstborn. I didn't know about these techniques back then and my first baby's constant inconsolable crying made me absolutely miserable.
Summary: I prefer Miracle Blanket. Don't forget Harvey Karp DVD!

Content: The SwaddleMe blanket seems good in theory, and reasonably priced, but what makes it easy to use is also its design flaw. The velcro pads and length limit the use of this thing to after newborn until about 2.5 months for an average size baby. This may be ok for your baby, but I plan to swaddle my baby beyond this age.
I got this in a Small and it was HUGE on my 6lb newborn son. The velcro tabs extended way beyond the gripping pads and left his shoulders/arms all hanging out and loose. I would return to the crib to see the blanket had shimmied its way up and over his face. (Dangerous! I did not like that, and I almost ceased to use the blanket from that point forward...)
After a few weeks he grew into it and it worked fine, nice and snug, and baby slept well. Then at about 2.5 months, he grew to be average length/weight according to his pediatrician. In the SwaddleMe, his legs more than reached the bottom of the pouch and the velcro tabs didn't make it around his upper body. Also, the flannel has very little stretch.
Pros:
+ Works well for about 6 weeks or so
+ Light weight flannel
+ Only slightly easier than wrapping a baby with a competitive swaddling product or regular swaddling blanket
Cons:
- Not for small newborn babies or average to large 3 month olds
- Short-lived; it doesn't grow well with baby
- Velcro tabs kind of tricky to use; leaving the bottom tab secured seems to make it easier to use.
I recommend the Miracle Blanket instead if you want a "pre-swaddled" blanket. (Though I would say both the SwaddleMe and Miracle Blanket allow a lot of room in the leg pouch for kicking...) Or, the flat SwaddleDesigns ultimate receiving blanket instead.

Content: i love these swaddleme blanket! it really works! the only thing i didnt like much about them is that they dont really last that long after a few wash.
