Yamaha's newly developed Advanced YST II (Yamaha Active Servo Technology II) combines negative-impedance and constant current principles to drive the speaker cone with even tighter control than previously. Using Advanced Negative Impedance Converter (ANIC) circuits, this system dynamically optimizes effective speaker impedance to maintain excellent linearity. This means more stable and accurate low range response, not to mention higher sound pressure levels, for more natural and energetic bass reproduction. The subwoofer also employs a new design feature called the Half Pipe Port, which further smoothes bass response and minimizes extraneous noise. The powerful, multi-range driver is exceptionally large (16cm; 6.5") for this class of subwoofer. Content: When thinking about getting this sub-woofer, it's important to consider the other pieces in your system. I purchased it to go along with the Yama Sound Projector YSP 900--and it does the job very nicely at an attractive price through Amazon. I did much research about this and found out that sometimes higher end sub-woofers would have too much base and would overpower the sound projector. I think anyone using the sound projector without a subwoofer would would be very disappointed in the overall effect. This subwoofer is a great match to it and is relatively compact. I am very happy with my system---great sound without having to worry about having speakers set up all around the room for surround sound and having to deal with wires, etc. That being said, it is a trade off, as it does not equal or surpass a quality surround system. Weighing the difference of simplicity and having a compact system versus an even higher quality sound of surround, I am happy with my decision and would choose to go this route again. You have to know your priorities and decide for yourself.

Content: The Yamaha FSW100 is a compact woofer that delivers excellent quality. Our family room is about 18x18. The woofer is not overpowering and is not oversized.
It defintely completes our home theater system.
The supplier was also great. Delivery was timely and communication was perfect.

Content: I had my eye on this subwoofer for quite some time as it turns out a co-worker of mine had an extra sub and sold his. I didn't want to spend big bucks on a sub because I feel it is the most overrated piece of the home theater. I powered up 'Saving Pvt Ryan' and was impressed! the bass is clean and fast, very pleased!! and its not this huge cube that takes tons of space :)

Content: This is a great Sub.I bought it to match my ysp-900 yamaha sound bar.They match each other perfect.But this sub does not rock or shake the room.I wanted more power and sound so i bought another sub of the same make and model.I used a y-splitter since there was only one sub out on the ysp-900 soundbar.The extra sub has produced more depth in my movies.I have both sub levels past noon at (1).Im very happy with this sub.
