Rating - 5 Date: 2009-01-04 Content: handy in all application i have encountered. never let me down yet. rate this 5 stars lightweight and tons of power. no hand or arm fatigue. Summary: like hot knife through butter
Rating - 5 Date: 2009-01-01 Content: This is a great drill another quality bosch product. It does a great job with everything from drilling and driving tapcons to drilling 1" holes through foundations. I have not purchased a core drill bit for it yet, but am hoping to soon. The chisel mode is a great feature. Summary: Great all around hammer drill
Rating - 4 Date: 2008-12-27 Content: I probably wouldn't want to use this for serious demolition work or installing hundreds of stadium seats, but it's great at knocking clean holes in all the concrete you're likely to have around the house really, really quickly. I've been able to get a Tapcon into just about anything in under a minute, even slabs that took my cordless hammer drill three full battery charges to punch through.
My only complaints about the tool revolve around its depth gauge. While it is toothed to prevent slippage from vibration, the teeth are only on two surfaces, so if you don't slide it in the right way it'll never lock in place. What's worse is that it sits too close to the tool's body, so you cannot rotate the side handle without removing and replacing it, thereby making the aforementioned concern regarding its proper orientation all the more relevant. Probably not an issue if you're working on open surfaces, but if you have to get into some tight spots where the handle just won't fit the same way twice it's a real pain to have to reset the depth over and over. If they had moved it about another quarter inch off axis it would have made a world of difference.
Still, for the price, it's tough to beat. Summary: Loads of power
Rating - 5 Date: 2008-10-16 Content: I tried to drill some 1/2" holes in poured concrete foundation using a regular drill and brand new masonry bit. After 15 minutes of difficult drilling, the hole was barely 1/4" deep. So I picked up a Bosch 11255 rotary hammer, and it drilled 4" deep holes in under 1 minute. I was amazed at how fast a rotary hammer goes though concrete. Great tool.
When I bought mine, it came free in the box with some Bosch electronic metal/pipe finder tool. Have not used that yet. Summary: Great entry level rotary hammer
Rating - 5 Date: 2008-10-15 Content: the Bosch is the best I've used of this type of tool. As far as the review concerning Bosch's describing this as "1 inch". It means that this will drill up to a 1 inch diameter hole in concrete ( and the model down from this will drill a 7/8" dia.). Bosch includes this information in their specifications. Summary: Great rotary hammer
