This new comp, produced by Browne and Paul Dieter, is Jackson's first live release since his 1977 multi-platinum "Running On Empty" album. It also marks the recording debut of a three decades old track, "The Birds Of St. Marks", not previously released in any form. Content: If you like Jackson Browne, well this is a no brainer. If you like great song writing, great acoustic music, a great live concert, great songs in general, well this is a no brainer.
The songs are all top notch, the clarity of the audio is awesome, it really feels like he's singing in the same room with you. It's so clear!
He gives very nice intros and stories through-out the whole album.
This is definitely the cd to listen to if you just want to zone out and get lost in some great music.
A+++ all the way.
Can't wait to listen to Vol.2.

Content: Jackson's first album Jackson Browne (1972), sometimes referred to as Saturate Before Using, is - in my opinion - one of the most superior debut albums of all time, so mature, so eloquent, so emotionally charged, the words and the music just breaks my heart, but, you know, it's that hurts-so-good feeling. What's equally impressive is the fact that Jackson managed to maintain the high quality on For Everyman (1973), Late For The Sky (1974) and The Pretender (1975).
Solo Acoustic, Volume 1 was recorded live - with excellent sound - and primarily covers these years. It's a very strong introduction to some of Jackson's best work, so much so that I would recommend that you buy this instead of one of his "best of"-albums.
These Days, Fountain Of Sorrow, Your Bright Baby Blues, For A Dancer, For Everyman and The Pretender are some of the most beautiful songs ever written.
Too Many Angels is one of Jackson's strongest post-70's songs; the original was recorded for the solid album I'm Alive (1993).
