Content: If you're like me, having owned many different sets of basic flatware over the years, let me just say: stop buying that other stuff and switch up to this set.

I'd grown tired of pulling forks out of the silverware drawer only to find them as literal "flat"ware--completely flattened out from the children abusing them (e.g. one child drops one on the floor and another child steps on it while walking by). I also didn't like spoons that would bend when I tried to dig into some old fashioned ice cream. So, in reading all of the reviews on the weight of the product, I decided to give it a try.

What can I say? This flatware set is fantastic. Each piece is hefty, and feels good in the hand. They also look wonderful, regardless of the setting--we use them for holiday dinners and for everyday. The elegant simplicity of the pattern ensures it will go well with nearly every decor or place setting.

Oh, and while they are heavy, they're not too heavy for our littlest ones--our 19 month old handles his fork and spoon very well. In fact, I think the heft has actually made it easier for him to use the utensils.

I also like the serving utensils that came with this set--the fork is strong enough to help lift a heavy roast--and my wife especially likes the scalloped sugar spoon. For an otherwise plain design, the scalloped sugar spoon stands out, making it easier to spot in the drawer.

Had I a chance to go through life again, I'd skip all of the inexpensive flatware sets I ever owned and start with this one. It's something that should last for years to come. I know I've spent at least four times the cost of this set on flatware during the past 15 years. Had I purchased this set (or one comparable to it) back then, I'd probably still have it today.

I recommend ordering a set today. You will not be disappointed.

Content: Great set for the money (I paid about $43 + $3.99 overnight shipping w/ Amazon Prime)...Heavy in your hand, great balance and excellent quality. I decided after months of the crappiest "dollar store" silverware set in the world, that I no longer wanted to get rust poisoning from my flatware. I bit the bullet on these because they looked like good quality and Amazon was about $11 cheaper than wally world. GREAT product!!! SO PLEASED!! One word of advice, though...They're not good with paper plates...Due to their weight, people tend to drop them left and right. Good problem to have I guess...jP
