This heavy-duty tripod from Johnson features durable aluminum construction and a flat head design that incorporates an elevator column to adjust the overall tripod height from 49-7/8 to 118-1/8 inches. The accordian-style bellow system keeps the elevator column dust-free. This elevator column has a position lock, and the machined head has a built-in bulls-eye (circular) vial for leveling. 5/8-inch 11 thread is activated by an easy-to-use offset adjustment knob. This model comes with an interlocking leg system and shoulder strap, and it's designed for use with most laser levels and site instruments with 5/8-inch 11 thread attachment.

Content: I just got this tripod today. (The day after I ordered it with super saver shipping. Kudos Amazon) I'm happy with it, but with a little work it would be great. The tripod is well built and is as solid as can be expected for 10' of working height. It will wobble a bit if disturbed with a 3 pound rotary level on top, but it seems to settle exactly where it started. I was hoping it would be stable enough in its lowest position for an optical level, but there is some play where the head attaches to the shaft that would make it unsuitable for a device that must be touched frequently. I think I can correct the play, but I shouldn't have to. Also, the "retractable rubber covers" for the spikes are clear rubber tubing which the points of the spikes can protrude through. I would not consider setting this thing up on a hardwood floor with those covers. The spikes are threaded into the legs (8mm x 1.25mm), so I'm going to look for suitable feet for indoor use.

Content: Very well designrd, tough aluminum and the greatest thing is you set your level(laser in my case) any height you want up to 10 feet.
