    Editorial Reviews
    Product Description:
This exciting new addition to the EOS System combines compact size and affordability with an added dose of features and sophistication. Improving on the previous model, Speedlite 420EX, the new 430EX can now be set into manual flash mode (full power~1/64). Flash compensation can be set on the flash unit, and manual control of the flash zoom head is now possible. Improvements in its circuitry make recycle time 40% faster, and since it is compatible with Canon's wireless E-TTL, it can be used as an affordable "slave unit". Content: Very good for the price that is easy to use, my camera is a 350D (XT) and the configuration can handle it from there. The low point is that you can not shoot in remote wireless adapter or without fee is about the same price of the flash. I recommend 99%.

    Greetings from Chile.!

Content: Last Christmas I surprised my wife with a Digital Rebel xti (10.1 megapixel). We're not pros, but we do take a lot of pictures. All year, she enjoyed the camera, but I had been somewhat disappointed that the photos were not all that remarkably different from our 6.1 megapixel Kodak Easyshare point and shoot camera.

Throughout the past year, I continued to think that the lack of "wow factor" must be due to only having the standard 18-55 mm lens that came standard with the camera. I knew the xti had greater capabilities than we were getting out of it. So for about two months, in preparation for this year's Christmas, I've had an $800 "L" lens sitting in my shopping cart at Amazon. Unfortunately, I just never quite had enough money to pull the trigger, so to speak. Meanwhile, in all my research I noticed several folks had said that flash was as important, if not more so than glass. So, I figured I'd try this $200 flash, until I can afford the L lens.

Long story short, WOW, WOW, WOW! I'm not kidding. In one moment, literally, the photo results went from ho hum good, to absolutely great. My wife was amazed from photo number one. It was as if the 18-55mm lens got better, as well as the camera, all at once.
Summary: Not a pro? This is for you!

Content: I have a canon EOS Rebel EX and I purchased this to shoot at a wedding. I had previously shot indoor and was not happy with the stock flash on the camera. After using this flash I wish I had purchased it a long time ago. It is easy to use and found that bouncing the flash opens up a world of possibilities. I gave it five stars as I have not had any problems with it yet. I have only had it for a month and so far its great. I have never used any other flashes for the camera so I do not a have any advise as to which one is better. Don't delay buying a flash, it a must have.
Summary: Don't delay buying a flash, it a must have.
