Rating - 4 Date: 2008-12-02 Content: I have usually owned Sharp microwaves and have always been pleased with them. This particular model is good although it falls short of a few options that the other Sharp's that I have owned had. But that's okay as I don't cook with this - I simply use it for reheating food and beverages. It is good for the price I paid. BTW, I ordered it on a Sunday and it came on Monday late afternoon. The shipping time involved was superb! (And I ordered it normal delivery) Summary: Good for the price
Rating - 4 Date: 2008-11-23 Content: Chose this one specifically to fit on shelf above sink. But FIRST had to mount it on piece of 2x4 because when I installed new sink faucet the open microwave door hit it. THEN had to paint the edges of 2x4 black to blend in. NEXT had to make grooves for the microwave feet to "lock on" the 2x4. FINALLY had to put a small piece of non-skid material (had to cut it out from under my new carpet) so that the 2x4 stopped slipping every time I opened the microwave door. Because the buttons are difficult not only to locate but see, I had to install a spotlight on my ceiling. This helps greatly but of course it highlighted the dingy area behind the stove. So we had to make a decorative backsplash.[[ASIN:B000Y117SO FAT PASTRY CHEF 3 Hat Framed Art Kitchen Print Picture] We bought 4 of these cute plaques & mounted them on a decorative board painted Sunbeam Yellow & framed with 2" moulding painted Cranberry Zing red. It looks spectacular. I am now using our new microwave & love it. It seems more efficient (power vs price) than any other I've had over the last 35 years. You can't go wrong with this product. Shipping free. Buy with a credit card that gives you extra warranty & greater piece of mind. Summary: ONE THING LEADS TO ANOTHER
Rating - 1 Date: 2008-11-06 Content: We bought this microwave oven around 3 years ago and
were in general happy with it, except for the hard-
to-read, antiquated design of the clock/timer display.
However, recently most of the number keys on the touchpad
quit working when punched. Now we have to input a time
using the few keys that still operate, use some math to
figure out what the display will read when it has heated up
long enough, and then watch it like a hawk while it cooks.
There seem to be a lot of good reviews on this oven, and I
guess we just got a dud, because a microwave wave should
last a lot longer than this. But we're going to have to
replace ours when we can, and next time it's not going
to be a Sharp. Summary: Bad Durability
Rating - 2 Date: 2008-09-19 Content: I'd like to point out that this review is by a mere man. And when it comes to things of the kitchen my opinion doesn't count for much. I thought this microwave oven was just fine. I threw away the packaging in a fit of tidiness and confidence. I tried it out. It worked. What could possibly be wrong? We have had it now for three weeks and my wife has not stopped complaining. I didn't know that one could get so worked up about a microwave oven.
True, without my glasses I can't see which button to press. Yes, it does take longer to cook anything than our last microwave oven. And when I stumble, bleary eyed, into the kitchen in the middle of the night I have no idea what time it is because the clock doesn't light up.
Surely, patience is a virtue. Do we need to be in so much of a rush? Does one minute here, or two minutes there really make much difference? I can live with it. My wife can't. I don't think I can send it back without packaging if you want to know the truth. We are now into week three of being owners of this appliance, and my wife has not exhausted her ire against it. I feel my resolve on hanging onto it weakening. Women (who have strong opinions about these things) usually know best. I expect we'll have to get a something else with more oomph. Then once again, domestic bliss will reign in the kitchen.
Summary: Not enough oomph
Rating - 1 Date: 2008-08-22 Content: ITEM IS A COMPLETE RIP OFF!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! Made in Thailand, should of been my first clue. It wasn't built to ul specs, many problems with it. That loud noise is the microwaves going everywhere but the inner chamber to heat the food, that and a burning smell, surprised I didn't burn down the kitchen. Never tripped the breaker, but had a nice headache. DO NOT BUY THIS.. I hope this is just a Knockoff of a real microwave, because if this is a Sharp, I won't ever buy one again. Summary: Complete RIP OFF, BUYER BEWARE!!!
