Rating - 5 Date: 2008-12-27 Content: I received this item as a Christmas gift from a great friend and I just love it! All I do is add some cooked chicken strips on the tortilla, put some shredded cheeses, cover with another tortilla, close the lid and "tada" dinner is ready in 4 minutes. My husband is nuts about Chicken quesadillas so this will be used very frequently. I love the "Tex-Mex" look. The teflon coating is easy to wipe clean and the drip tray catches all the access liquids that can seep out. Make sure to follow the instructions and leave at least 1 inch free of ingredients from the edge and do not overfill. Great gift to give for anyone for any occasion. Summary: Perfecto!
Rating - 3 Date: 2008-10-17 Content: This item makes fairly decent quesadillas. There are a couple of tricks to using it correctly, like not filling the tortillas with too much filling, and making sure you can actually latch the lid, while keeping it closed long enough for it to toast the tortilla. It mostly becomes a process of trial and error.
Although the surfaces are non-stick and clean somewhat easily, you can't remove the plates and you can't submerge the unit in water, so other than using towels, cloths, and sponges, there's not much you can do to effectively clean and rinse the unit.
What really bothers me, though, is how the liquids -- especially cheeses -- tend to overspill and run down the sides of the bottom cooking surface, between the bottom hot plate and the plastic housing. It becomes quite a challenge to clean the unit when this happens, and it happens every time I use it. Because of this, I feel like the unit is never really clean. Overflow spills onto the table/counter should be expected as well.
The underside of this unit gets very hot, so it might not be suitable for all surfaces.
Other than the cleaning challenges, everybody seems to like the quality of the quesadillas this unit produces. Summary: Works well, but can be messy and hard to clean

I HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO NOT OVERFILL IT, AS THAT CAN MAKE THINGS MESSY AROUND THE EDGES....MAKES FOR AN EASY AND QUICK DINNER. Summary: EASY QUESADILLA'S
