Rating - 5 Date: 2008-11-25 Content: You will never regret buying this. It run at only 55 watts when the water temperature goes below 35 F and turns itself off when the water temperature gets up to 40 F. Effective, effecient and with a great warrantee. Summary: Small and Brilliant
Rating - 4 Date: 2008-03-11 Content: This heater does a very good job of keeping the water clear of ice. However the water must be shallow enough (not much deeper that the heater is thick)to work well. When the water is shallow it does work very well. The cord is extremely short for our application and I would think that would be the case for most applications. We had to purchase an additional short, outdoors extension cord. I think the cord on the heater is about 18 inches long. It would be much better if it were at least 36 inches long. Summary: Bird Bath Heater Performance
Rating - 5 Date: 2008-02-25 Content: This 50W heater works great. Looks like a stone (other heaters are ugly metal contraptions) and uses a trickle of electricity (other heaters use 3 to 5 times as much). Summary: Bird Bath Heater works great!
Rating - 5 Date: 2008-02-08 Content: The K&H Bird Bath Ice Eliminator has performed as expected. I put it in a large plastic bowl and it has kept the water open even during the -20 degrees in MN. It seems to be well sealed and the cord is substantial. Also,I like the low-wattage thermostat feature. Summary: K&H Bird Bath Ice Eliminator
Rating - 5 Date: 2008-02-08 Content: This replaces a foil type birdbath heater that we had for about 2 years. While it was more expensive than our first, it seems much sturdier and better made. It is quite heavy, but we still use a rock to anchor it in the bath. It doesn't thaw all the water in the bird bath, but a good portion of it. It's our first winter using this, so we will see how well it holds up to the Midwest winter. Summary: Works like it should
