Editorial Reviews Amazon.com Product Description: The JDS Dust-Gate Expansion Kit saves steps, time and energy. This kit is designed to turn on your dust collector when you open the Dust-Gate to a wood-working machine, and turn off your dust collector when the gate is closed. The switches on all Dust-Gates are wired to the Central Control Box in parallel so that when any of your gates are opened, the dust collector turns on. If several gates are open, the dust collector will not turn off until all gates are closed. The low-voltage switches in the system activate a Central Control Box that turns on the dust collector. Simply plug the Central Control Box into the proper electrical outlet, and then plug the dust collector into the Control Box. This dust-gate easily installs onto a 4-inch dust collector hose or pipe. What's in the Box Two Dust-Gates with switches and quick connectors and a 100-foot low voltage wire.

Rating - 3 Date: 2008-04-13 Content: I purchased the starter kit and some add-on gates. I found the system works well, but the switches are attached really poorly. They used tiny sheet metal screws that barely grab in the aluminum gate bodies. Out of five gates, two had one screw missing when they arrived. Another fell off later in the shop. I've fixed them by using either another screw or superglue. When it came time to add more gates I just picked up standard gates at the woodworking store and switches at Radio Shack, glued them on myself.
They do give you a generous supply of wire (I only used about 1/3 in my three-car garage shop). However the included bullet connectors are horrible and I had to use my own.
So all in all, I'd recommend buying just the starter kit and then putting together your own add-on gates.
Summary: Nice idea, but switches are very flimsy
