Content: I purchased this product two months ago from Amazon because it was the best price for this item (better than newegg!) and it was eligible for Prime shipping.
The drive unit fits into any standard minitower/tower enclosure however I recommend that you measure your case depth first before purchasing. I managed to fit this unit into an Optiplex 755 however doing so required pulling the power supply out first. Squeezing it into the Optiplex also required some minor modifications to the 5.25" bay as there were metal guides for each device that impeded my ability to fit the StarTech drive cage.
Now, if you dont mind pulling apart your PC and getting your hands "dirty" then you'll appreciate what this does add. 3 hard drives in only 2 5.25" bays. I needed the extra drive capacity as I was building a lab machine (virtual machine host) and needed a lot of drives to accommodate all the templates and guest machines. In this capacity the StarTech is fantastic. I have two of the drive configured in a RAID via a PCI RAID controller and they're working great.
Okay, so I do have one big complaint - the back panel of this unit is terrible. Trying to Squeeze in the SATA and power cables is a joke (but not funny). Make sure you have a flashlight on hand and also try to remember the order of the ports on the back relative to the drive positions in the cage. I know it sounds dumb but trust me on this.
One final work is that the build quality is so-so (reviews on other sites will corroborate this) but it does the job and when you consider the price this really is a bargain. Overall I gave it 3.5 stars because it does what it's supposed to do with only minor issues during setup.
