Customer Reviews Average rating - 3.5
Rating - 3 Date: 2008-12-01 Content: Good product for smaller scratches, but for larger, which after all might require repainting it is evidently not appropriate. Summary: not for larger scratches
Rating - 2 Date: 2008-10-11 Content: I have used several types of similar products including GS27 and Quixx. The Meguiars Scratch X seemed to do an ok job in removing some very light surface scratches and some tough to scrub off contaminants but it seemed to take much more scrubbing and resulted in a less professional / complete finish than Quixx. After using Quixx I was extremely impressed with the results. Quixx is expensive the results cannot be matched by similar products. If Quixx does not get out the scratch you either need to do a polish with random orbital machine or touch up paint if it is a deep scratch. I would pass on ScratchX though. Summary: not overly impressed
Rating - 4 Date: 2008-10-07 Content: Unfortunately had my car keyed deep with a curse word. Some of the letters were too deep to get out, but ScratchX did manage to remove some of parts of the lettering so that the word is not legible.
ScratchX WORKS great to remove light scratches on the paint, but on some of the deeper scratches it just did okay. So if you have light scraps on the side of the doors ScatchX will get those out, but if you have deep scraps like deep keyed car scraps then don't expect that to disappear. Overall for the cost of the product at $7-10 dollars at your local autostores this is one of the best Scratch "removers" to use. It's effective and easy to use. Remember ScratchX isn't a miracle cure, but it's darn close to it.
TIPS: Apply and remove several coats to clear out the scratches. Some elbow grease will go along way to helping get those scratches more blended.
Summary: Worked Good on my Keyed Car
Rating - 5 Date: 2008-10-06 Content: If you've been scrubbing away with traditional polishes, this stuff is like magic. Only thing that's better is Meguiar's 33. It will definitely take some elbow grease; buy yourself a cheap orbital buffer for use with this. Summary: MagicX
Rating - 1 Date: 2008-07-08 Content: I used a fingernail to remove some residue on my car. I do not have sharp nails (nail biter) but still put some surface scratches in the clear coat. (this new car appears to have a thin clear coat compared to other vehicles I had). I was totally shocked that a fingernail caused scratching as I am very careful about such things. I went out and purchased this ScratchX based on reviews. Sorry to say it did not remove much of the scratches. (The scratches are so shallow that I can not even feel it). It did no better than regular polish. Summary: did not work for minor scratch
