Editorial Reviews Album Description: Featured at the annual celebration of the show's Broadway anniversary, this is the only karaoke recording of songs from Wicked with on-screen lyrics and a lyric booklet. This is a new recording with a great cast, under the direction of Michael Lavine, of the Tony Award winning musical Wicked. This album contains two CDs. The first disc has a complete recording of each song, the second disc has fully-orchestrated accompaniment tracks. All songs are in the original show key, and show tempo. Intros to the songs from the Broadway show are provided. Several live musicians are featured on this album. On-Screen lyrics will appear when this CD+G is played in a karaoke machine. No lyrics will appear when the album is played in a regular CD player, however, a lyric booklet is provided.

Rating - 1 Date: 2008-12-16 Content: This cd had much to be desired. I was overly disappointed when I heard how unlike the OBC recording this disc was. Frankly, I was stunned. The makers took their own liberties as far as extending bridges and instrumentals (as heard in No One Mourns The Wicked's intro), and it was quite confusing. I know. Yes, it is karaoke. But isn't the point of karaoke to make the song easily understood for all who perform it? I am very familiar with the score and I could seldom make out which were which beats. Especially during something bad, dancing through life, and even defying gravity. I am really open-minded and i tried to accept it for what it was. But all in all, this cd was, as I revealed in the title of this review, "Something Bad". Summary: Something Bad Is Happening In Oz!
Rating - 3 Date: 2008-09-11 Content: The CD is great. Elphaba and Galinda have nice voices. If you want to have a karaoke night this would be perfect. The only reason you should not by this CD is if your favorite songs are the ones Fiyero sings. This Fiyero is AWFULLY TERRIBLY BAD! I had to skip Dancing Through Life because his voice bothered me so. It is like sitting in chorus class and the girl next to you can't sing to save her life, but she keeps singing louder and louder and louder until you want to scream GO HOME IF YOU CAN'T SING TWINKLE, TWINKLE LITTLE STAR WITHOUT MAKING MY EARS BLEED!
Summary: I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY HIRED THAT FIYERO!
Rating - 4 Date: 2008-01-19 Content: I purchased this 2-CD karaoke version of the Broadway musical "Wicked" for my star-to-be daughter for Christmas, and it has been a huge hit. First of all, the fact that it was recorded using actual cast members makes this a top-notch production. The music CD is fully orchestrated, rather than a quickly-assembled group of musicians or a synthesized accompaniment that so many karaoke CDs tend to be. And having the music in the actual key and tempo of the musical allows you to really "be" part of the play. I would highly recommend this for the casual singer or the star-to-be. Summary: A "Wicked" Karaoke CD
Rating - 2 Date: 2007-12-11 Content: I was really disappointed with this particular CD. I bought both this one and the Pocket Songs version (JT 325, which Amazon also sells), and although I listened to this one first, I was disappointed at first listen. The arrangements are clearly over-synthesized, and not even synthesized well. (Frankly, I probably could have created these arrangements on my own keyboard at home and done as well.) The tempos are spotty and certainly not up to the same tempo as the original versions, and the background vocals, while certainly are not terrible, are not the best representations of the original versions. My advice? Go with the Pocket Songs version. THAT version is done so well that I frequently get the karaoke and soundtrack versions mixed up when listening to the song intros. Summary: Ok, but very disappointing compare to alternatives...
Rating - 1 Date: 2007-06-07 Content: This CD is such a disappointment! I sing with a traveling theater group and thought I could practice to this karaoke disc. Not a chance! The quality is poor-synthesized instruments & wrong notes and chords all over the place!Don't even get me started on the sample vocal tracks! I actually discarded this part of the pack as it was painfule to listen to. The vocals are horribly off key. Please, save your money. I know it's exciting to find this wonderful musical in a karaoke version but keep looking. Don't waste your cash on this one!!! Summary: High Cost, Little Quality
