Customer Reviews Average rating - 2.5
Rating - 5 Date: 2009-01-02 Content: I purchased this to go with my new tilt phone. I love at&t and will say that I did not end up keeping the tilt. My only major beef with the whole thing was that I had to pay the activation fee and was not waived even though the phone I purchased was returned-do to it not working properly. Summary: Awesome
Rating - 1 Date: 2008-09-16 Content: Both of the phones that I purchased through amazon had to be replaced - they were both defective! What a pain! I also lost all of my numbers on one of the phones!!! It's better to just buy them directly from ATT. Summary: DO NOT BUY PHONES FROM AMAZON
Rating - 1 Date: 2008-08-23 Content: I ordered a contract extension but Amazon thought it was a new line. Now I need to return the phone, cancel the new contract, and GO FIND ANOTHER VENDOR. DO NOT USE AMAZON TO BUY YOUR PHONE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RID OF YOUR CURRENT NUMBER. THEY TELL YOU DIFFERENTLY BUT THEY LIE.
This mistake will cost me. It will also cost Amazon. I will not order anything through Amazon again due to the awful customer service and misleading website information. Congrats, Amazon, you've lost at least one customer today. Summary: Amazon: will not let you extend your contract / keep your number
Rating - 1 Date: 2008-07-27 Content: avoid ATT as a wireless company. it took over 2 hours on 2 separate occasions to cancel my contract in the first 30 day trial period. they kept telling me to call amazon, amazon finally sent me the contract reference to give the AtT reps, then they put me on hold until the system hung up on me (about 30 mins) eventually I got it cancelled. they probably count on people not going through the hassel. I will NEVER use them again. Summary: Pure Cr@p
Rating - 3 Date: 2008-06-11 Content: Yeah they could have waived the dang activation fee, that was a waist. it's just a way for them to get a little extra cash out of the customer for no reason.
I find this new 2 year contract stuff garbage as well, I miss the days of 1 year contracts and they gave you all kinds of stuff to make you happy. Now they just line their pockets and forget about the little things about the customer.
Granted I have found AT&T to be better than Sprint/Nextel (so glad I'm not with them anymore).
Ported my number - Had no problems porting my number over from Nextel, The people that I have spoken to on the phone with AT&T so far have been quite nice and easy to understand for the most part (even the ones with accents you can understand well), I find this a great plus. Several times when calling up Nextel I'd get someone who bairly spoke english and wouldn't get the hint that I needed to talk to someone that spoke better english so I could get the help I needed.
HOLD TIMES - AT&T so far has had some pretty low hold times , also they don't don't charge you for calling them for support like several others do. Nextel counts it against your minutes to call them to get things resolved and so on.
Fast useage checking! - all you do is call a specific number as to what you want to check, say like minutes you dial *646# and you get a free text message right to your phone that tells you how many minutes you have left. Same thing goes for balance, Data use (phones with internet access). There is one for payments as well, I haven't used that one yet but it's supposed to take you to a way to do in via an automated system or something like that.
Pretty much I've been quite pleased with the service I've gotten so far, but I still think the plans are over priced. If it wouldn't have been for the fact that I get a nice discount through the company I work for I wouldn't have gotten the plan. It drops the price I pay to a somewhat acceptable rate. Summary: could be cheaper!
