Content: We really like apple recipes, but it was such a hassle to peel and slice the apples. No more! I'm usually skeptical, but after reading the reviews on Amazon plus the Cooks Illustrated review, I decided to try it. So easy and quick! Haven't tried it on potatoes yet, but wish I had had this before Thanksgiving! It would have saved me a lot of time and work!

Content: This Apple and Potato Peeler is fun to work with. I wanted to make Apple Dumplings for the holidays and my friend lent me hers. After using it, I ordered one for myself the same day. It is my new fun gadget for the kitchen. It peels, cores, and spiral cuts the apples in a moment which prepared the apples perfectly for the dumplings or apple pie. It's great for scalloped potatoes also. It adheres to the counter by suction and holds tight. After using, just rinse. It's constructed well and will last for a long time. My friend has had hers for 15 years or so. I have already used it many times. You will love it.

Content: I go through pounds and pounds and pounds of apples between cakes, crisps, apple butter, and so on, and my least favorite part has always been peeling the darn things. I received this peeler as a Christmas gift and it's already high up on my list of favorite gadgets!
Peeling apples is now fun. Yes, I said it. Fun. Our 8 year old and I had a blast mowing through 5lbs of apples the other day for a fresh batch of apple butter. She loves turning the crank and watching the apple peel come off in a long spiral. Less than 10 minutes after we started, the apples were cooking and the peeler was washed and put away while we snacked on the peels.
This also does a decent job with potatoes, but don't expect it to peel them clean. That works for us because we like *some* peel in our mashed potatoes; if you need spotlessly peeled potatoes, though, you'll need to finish them up by hand.
Consider this an apple peeler and you'll be happy with your purchase. I'd give it 6 stars if I could!
Children should be supervised when using this gadget. The slicer blade is quite sharp as are the prongs that hold the apple.

Content: securely clamps to a dry level surface. Set it up once and adjust a couple cutting pieces on it. secure them tightly in place and it will cut, skin, and core an apple or pear in about 15 seconds. great for pies!!! simple it works. good buy good price. trust me im an experienced cook and have had one for years. design is unchanged and i purchased one for a friend.

Content: Once you have set it up and adjusted the blade properly this makes apple peeling a breeze. All apples are of different shapes and sizes but the more spherical the apple the more efficient this peeler works. With a pre-made crust and this peeler I had an apple pie in the oven in about 10 minutes.
I had heard you could use this for potatoes as well but in my experience this does not work very well with potatoes, you lose a lot of the potato since they are more of a cylindrical shape.
Fairly easy to setup, disassemble, and clean. I highly recommend this product for its intended use as it accomplishes the job quite well.
