The rod sweeps the kernels over the popper surface so that the kernels are evenly distributed over the oil and heat. This design yields up to 25 percent more than other models, while popping takes just seven minutes, and unpopped kernels are rare. The popper also includes a dual steam vent and butter well in the lid for minimizing condensation and buttering the corn while it pops. When popping is finished, the lid doubles as a serving bowl. Content: This order was a replacement for a 20+ year-old Stir Crazy Popper. (It never quit - I accidentally knocked it off the counter and broke some important pieces.) This one works just as well as the first one, and the kids love to watch the popcorn and wait for it to pop. We went for the 8-quart over the 6-quart because we have 2 popcorn-loving pre-teens. This makes enough for the whole family.

Content: One of the few products I've purchased and can say I've gotten more than my monies worth. Over the past 30 years, I've owned 5 of the 6 quart models, this is my first 8 quart. These are great at what they do - pop corn. The only problem I've found is you can not clean the base. When my first one quit after 5 years, I took it apart. The built up sludge inside was scary. With a large family, first kids and now grandkids, we use ours three or four times a week.

Content: IF YOU ARE TIRED OF MESSING AROUND WITH A SMALL POPCORN POPPER THE WESTBEND CRAZY 8 IS WHAT YOU NEED. ALMOST EVERY KERNAL POPS, USES VERY LITTLE OIL, AND MAKES 8 QUARTS OF POPCORN. MY FAMILY OF 5 CAN EAT THIS AT ONE SETTING. WE USE TO HAVE TO MAKE TWO BATCHES, BUT NOW ONE IS PLENTY. THIS IS OUR 2ND POPPER, LASTS A COUPLE OF YEARS. WE USE IT ALMOST NIGHTLY.
