Editorial Reviews Product Description: It all started in 1965 in Quietville, U.S.A... A small American village that virtually overnight was rocked by the loudest, meanest, nastiest gang of drivers ever to pound the pavement. It was there that extreme car audio was born... Long before anyone ever heard of sound-offs and competitions. Long before anyone ever felt the thunder of a subwoofer on wheels. The legend spread throughout the land. For the next few years, Pyle drivers were the #1 Nemesis of peace and quiet all over the nation. The good citizens of Quietville shuttered their doors, kept their daughters in at night, and soon forced the founding fathers to send those angry Pyles away for over thirty years... Don't look now, but...guess who's back (with a vengeance)!PRODUCT FEATURES:AM/FM-MPX radio;PLL tuning;Single CD player;Electronic tuner;30-station memory 18FM/12AM. Amazon.com Product Description: Upgrade your default car stereo with the affordable Pyle PLCD29 CD player/radio, which includes a detachable faceplate to prevent theft. Outfitted with 160 watts of output power (40 watts x 4) and a full-function CD player, the device is ideal for drivers who value reliability but don't have the money or inclination to invest in more expensive models. The CD player offers a nice array of features, including intro scan, repeat, and random play, in addition to standard skip and repeat track functions. Audio-wise, listeners can adjust the treble or bass, along with the right/left balance and front/rear fade. The CD player also offers an anti-skipping mechanism that protects playback should you hit a pothole, speed bump, or other obstacle. As an alternative to CDs, the PLCD29 also plays your favorite AM and FM stations through its digital PLL tuner. The radio comes with 18 FM and 12 AM presets, with the option of either tuning them manually or automatically using the AMS button. As an added bonus, the unit includes an auxiliary input that connects to the 3.5 mm headphone jack of a portable audio device, letting you play an iPod or MP3 player through your car's stereo speakers. Additional features include a clock that keeps accurate time while you drive, a mute button that silences the sound, and an eye-catching blue LCD display. Installation is relatively straightforward for those who follow the included installation guide, though Pyle recommends contacting your dealer if you need to modify the vehicle in any way. The PLCD29 also comes with all the appropriate installation hardware. What's in the Box PLCD29 body, detachable front face, protective case, installation hardware, installation guide/user's manual.
Customer Reviews Average rating - 1.0
Rating - 1 Date: 2005-06-22 Content: Bought this CD-player for my girlfriend's birthday. The player worked for several weeks and then refused to play one of the CDs, and even didn't eject it, showing different error messages. The Reset button didn't work either. Had to send the unit back (together with the swallen CD) and get a partial refund. Also it was a constant problem to mount the front panel - you needed to bend it somehow that I was always afraid to brake it. There is no rubber pads in front of the CD ejector, so lots of dust can get in the CD-reading mechanism. Summary: Not a pleasant purchase
Rating - 1 Date: 2004-09-27 Content: $62.00 item worked 20 minutes. cost $30.00 to ship for repairs and back. they said nothing worng, get pro installation. worked fine for 1 hour, then all controls lock up again. the only way to gain control is to remove the face plate and reintall. touch the volume control and it locked up again. Sorry that is not an installation problem. They are not worth fixing, and tech support refuses to take responsibility for an inferior product. Summary: save your money
