Rating - 5 Date: 2009-01-03 Content: I wanted a sturdier tripod than the dinky $10 one I have. I definitely wouldn't take my chances with my DSLR on that cheap thing. This one definitely fit the bill and seemed like the best fit for my needs and budget based on reviews. It's not too pricey and it seems very sturdy for what you get. There are some plastic parts, but I suppose that is expected for the price. For my purpose as a beginning photographer, it works great. I also like that it's black as opposed to gray, but that's my personal preference.
I mainly use it for macro photography with my Canon Rebel XTI and Canon 100mm macro lens. I wouldn't be able to get tack-sharp pictures without it in low-light situations.
I highly recommend this tripod for someone who is on a tight budget and wants something sturdier than some of the lower-cost tripods. It fits my needs nicely. Summary: Great little tripod for the money!
Rating - 4 Date: 2008-12-21 Content: nothing special here.... but solid construction, medium weight, decent price... hard to go wrong.... becareful with locks on legs.... as you would with all tripods in this price range..... could break if mishandled... but good price/value.... ideal for second tripod.... Summary: solid value

Rating - 4 Date: 2008-11-02 Content: The Velbon DF 60 is a good mid-weight stand for the money. The material and moving parts have proved appropriate. Light weight, but durable. Summary: Good Mid-Weight tripod
Rating - 5 Date: 2008-09-24 Content: it's plastic.However quite stable.
I'm considering a 70-200 IS F2.8/L,so wait and see if it can carry it.
However,I think it will work perfectly until you put some huge stuffs such as 1Ds Mark3 plus a 400 4/L...
very satisfied. Summary: great
