Customer Reviews Average rating - 4.5
Rating - 2 Date: 2009-01-04 Content: I like to finish books that I start. I haven't quite finished this one yet, and I'm having a REALLY hard time getting through it. I keep waiting for something to happen. I'm about 3/4 of the way thru it and nothing yet. This is a really boring book and nothing like Plum Island. I wish I had read the 1 star reviews before I purchased it. Summary: BORING
Rating - 4 Date: 2009-01-03 Content: Ok, truth be told, my wife bought this book at a used bookstore because it was purple and it matched some candle that she had. So, the book sat on its side in the bathroom for 2 years with a candle on it until one day when I needed something to read. No joke.
I couldn't put the book down and loved the story. I'm a big mafia buff so the Don's involvement was fascinating to me. I'll definitely read more of DeMille's work. Summary: I liked this book.
Rating - 3 Date: 2009-01-01 Content: Boring at the beginning - but gets good in about the middle (and is great at the end). Not one of DeMille's best though. Summary: Mary from Novi
Rating - 5 Date: 2008-12-27 Content: As so many have already said, this is simply a great book and a must read for anyone seriously interested in nonfiction novels. Probably DeMille's best effort. Summary: One of the Greats
Rating - 4 Date: 2008-12-06 Content: This is the first book I have read by this author. It was rather interesting especially with the humor of the main character. I do plan to read The Gate House when it is in paperback. Summary: First time reader
