Editorial Reviews Product Description: Fellowes 96983 17" LCD Privacy Screen Protector - Need to keep your sensitive information on your monitor private and away from onlookers? Try a Fellowes LCD Privacy Screen. Screen images become blurred from a side view so only you can view what's on your screen.
Customer Reviews Average rating - 4.0
Rating - 4 Date: 2008-02-29 Content: I'm a special educator who needs to work on student files in a room that is also used by students. Screens like this should be mandatory for my colleagues. Whatever is onscreen is blurred and illegible from all but a very narrow band, but there is no loss of clarity for me. My near vision is starting to blur on it's own these days, so clarity is crucial. The only problem is the filter seems to attract dust, on both sides, which means I need to clean it more often.
The one caveat is this: there are two reasons for privacy filters, and this one is only good for one of them. If you want privacy for data, it is excellent. If you want your boss not to notice you're playing games on the job, it will not work. The boss won't be able to tell whether you're playing Doom or Castle Faulkenstein, but he'll definitely know it isn't a spreadsheet. Amazon and eBay logos may still be recognizable. In a word, this is a privacy filter for professional use only. Summary: Obscures text, not games
