Editorial Reviews Product Description: Food grinder attachment for all Kitchen Aid stand mixers Amazon.com Review: This tool increases the fun factor of your KitchenAid stand mixer several times over. Toss cubes of meat into the food tray, stomp 'em down, and watch the results wriggle out the front. Grind your own beef or chicken for patties or tacos. Blend your own sausage mixtures, from breakfast to boudin blanc. With additional attachments, you can turn it into a pasta maker or a sausage stuffer. It's easy to assemble and use. Most parts are dishwasher-safe; hand wash the grinding blades, wooden stomper, and cutting knife. --Betsy Danheim

Rating - 5 Date: 2008-11-03 Content: The food grinder attachment was easy to assemble and attach, and the instructions were clear. When run on 4, as the instructions advised, it ground quickly and evenly. I've ground beef and lamb through it with no problems. You do have to actively shove the meat down into the unit with the plunger; its design makes it very safe and easy to do so, but with the attachment mounted above the mixer it's a little awkward if you're reaching up to do this for very long. Next time I might try setting the mixer on the kitchen table to lower the overall height, but I don't think this would be a major problem unless you were very short (I'm 5'6") or had a *lot* of grinding to do. The attachment disassembles easily for an easy, thorough cleaning; the tip someone provided of running a couple of pieces of bread through at the end really does help with clean up. Overall I am very satisfied and would highly recommend this attachment, and it provides yet another reason that I would recommend the Kitchenaid mixer line as well. Summary: Sturdy, easy to use and clean
Rating - 5 Date: 2008-10-24 Content: I bought this food grinder attachment to replace an old self contained food grinder and this is much better than my other food grinder. I mainly us it to grind my own chicken burger. It is faster, easier to clean and does a better job at grinding the fresh chicken breasts. I would recommend it to anyone with a KitchenAid stand mixer. Summary: Works better than expected

Rating - 4 Date: 2008-10-14 Content: I got it as a gift for a good friend of mine. She had been wanting one for a while. She seems to enjoy it. First thing she used it for was to make ground beef for chili, which was delicious. She said it worked great and had no complaints other than that it was difficult and gross to clean. But I guess I would expect this from something that grinds meat. Apparently if you use it to grind bread afterwards it gets all of the unwanted leftover flesh out of the grinder. But I guess from what she said I would consider buying one for my kitchenaid and therefore would recommend it to others. Summary: Bought it as a gift....
