Editorial Reviews Amazon.com Product Description: The Garden Weasel cultivator is designed to loosen soil and perform weeding, with wheels that run crosswise against each other and its scissor-action blades to continually break up soil and pull weeds. It's "the original 5-way tool that loosens the soil and weeds the garden with half the effort - and twice as fast." The cultivator digs 1-1/2 inches into the soil for even tilling. Its detachable blades can be removed or positioned to work between wide and narrow rows, around plants, or as a hand tool, and it comes with both a long and short handle for more versatility. This cultivator comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Amazon.com Review: Originally invented and marketed in Germany, the Garden Weasel is still an amazing garden tool, even after 15 years of "As Seen on TV" advertising here in the States. Its self-cleaning rotary cutters run crosswise against each other, meeting about 1-1/2 inches below the ground to break the surface soil and creating a fine till with their scissorlike action. Use this tool to break up soil in large areas or wide rows or to scarify soil for seeding. If you remove a few of the blades, you can work on exceptionally narrow rows or around plants. By using the short handle (included), you can work in greenhouses or rock gardens. Clearly, there are many uses for this tool--it's hard to imagine, but after all these years, it's still one of the best cultivators on the market. Ingenious design, versatile applications, and solid construction have kept this tool at the top for decades. --Ariel Meadow Stallings

Rating - 1 Date: 2008-05-18 Content: Personally I hate this tool. It should be banned. It is a back breaker. Ergonomically, it's one of the worst garden tools you could ever buy or use. Two reasons: One the 44" inch handle is far too short and too light for anyone except a small child to use without stooping over and hurting their back. Fifteen minutes using this tool will most certainly ensure a trip to the chiropractor. Two: A pulling motion, with knees-bent, using legs in a rocking motion is the preferred ergonomic motion for raking or cultivating. If you currently rake or cultivate with your legs straight you will be amazed at the difference when you use your legs instead of just your arms. The Garden Weasel is best used when pushed forward and down and that motion, combined with the short handle, again, will cause the gardening to use the small muscles of the lower back -- ouch! A back breaker. This is why people think garden is work. Beacuse of poorly designed tools like this. How to FIX IT: Make the handle 60 to 72 inches with PVC pipe and clamps. Lengthen it to a full 72". While this does not fix the pushing problem, it does allow the power the cultivator using the legs instead of the back and arms. You will be amazed at the difference this will make!

Rating - 4 Date: 2008-05-05 Content: This product works great if you use it for it's intended purpose. It's not a motorized tiller so you can't expect it to work exactly like one. I initially work through my garden with the Claw to remove the large weeds. Then follow with the Weasel, which leaves the garden in perfect working condition. Then weekly through the growing season, just run your weasel through your garden and that is enough to keep your garden weed free. Summary: Works great with the Claw
Rating - 5 Date: 2008-05-05 Content: Good product. Works well where there is no stones. I also had one back in NY, but small stones kept getting caught in the tines. Works great here in CA though. Summary: Garden Weasel Weeder Culitivator
